Publishing Admin Portal Redesign
In a short admin portal redesign, I studied requirements, talked to users, whiteboarded, and created and vetted wireframe designs.

- Activities:

• User Interview
• Sitemap
• Wireframes
To expand and improve an admin portal for internal employees.
SOLUTION
Understanding the Old System
The old system needed to be combined with a newer system without slowing current admins’ workflow process. In order to understand the old system, I interviewed and watched admins use the old system.
Workflow Diagram
I captured what I learned about the old system in a basic workflow diagram. I also conducted a basic task analysis of requested functionality for the new system.
Whiteboarding sessions
To further understand what the admin users and management needed, I whiteboarded a few screens in a co-designing session.
Sitemap
To help in the fleshing out of the new system, I concurrently built a site map that captured the different users and site structure.
High Fidelity Wireframes
I picked up the design style of the current new system, and integrated in the old system in a way that simplified the overall navigation, but didn’t require admins to learn a new workflow.
