School Design Projects
For my Information Architecture class and Managing User Centered Design class, I tackled two redesign projects.
- Year: 2013
- Role: UX Designer
- Activities:
• In-depth client interviews
• Design iterations in Agile
• Wireframes
• Sitemap
• Client presentation
• Expert review
1) Lonelyplanet: to
identify usability problems in a site’s structure and redesign it to
more closely fit a user’s mental model.
2) Law firm: To make an existing law firm dashboard more usable and user-friendly.
SOLUTION
Sitemap for Lonely Planet .com Redesign
For my information architecture class, I completed an expert review for LonelyPlanet.com, and then addressed usability issues I saw in the navigation of the site.
This was my proposed redesign of the site structure.
Sample wireframe for Lonely Planet .com
This wireframe shows how the proposed site structure recommended above could be implemented.
Law firm dashboard
This was one of 26 wireframes created for a law firm. My group and I spent 3 hours interviewing the lawyers to understand their needs before iterating on designs that would increase the usability of their current system.
